New Grains & Greens Menu
October 14, 2017
We're unveiling a new menu by the fantastic celebrity chef Melissa d'Arabian! Star of TV’s “Next Food Network Star” and “Ten Dollar Dinners”, Melissa has created a "Grains & Greens Menu” based on our famous sustainable seafood.
Coronado, California
Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill has commissioned celebrity chef, television personality and cookbook author Melissa d’Arabian to create a new healthy menu that blends her specialty for easy, healthy gourmet meals with Bluewater’s just-off-the-boat sustainable seafood – much of it caught locally by the restaurant’s own fishing boat, Pilikia, in waters off San Diego and the Southern California coast.
The winner of “The Next Food Network Star” in 2009, d’Arabian was the star of “Ten Dollar Dinners” on the Food Network before publishing the New York Times bestseller Ten Dollar Dinners: 140 Recipes and Tips to Elevate Simple, Fresh Meals Any Night of the Week, in 2012 and a follow-up cookbook in 2014.
D’Arabian, who lives in Coronado, also hosted FoodNetwork.com’s “The Picky Eaters Project” and “Smart Carts,” and Cooking Channel’s “Drop 5 lbs. with Good Housekeeping,” writes a healthy-living column for The Associated Press and contributes to EverydayHealth.com and the FN Dish blog.
Known as “Melissa d’Arabian’s Grains & Greens Menu,” the new all-day menu features a series of moderately priced heart-healthy dishes made with Bluewater’s fire-grilled shrimp and salmon mixed with fresh lettuces, brown rice, black beans, roasted and julienned vegetables, spices and original cilantro lime and Thai sauces and dressings. There is also a vegan option featuring quinoa, lentils, kale, avocado and kimchee topped with a miso lemon garlic dressing.
D’Arabian says the menu was created in partnership with Bluewater Boathouse Executive Chef Albert Serrano and reflects her passion for easy meals that are healthy, flavorful, elegant and affordable, appealing to both foodies and families who don’t want to sacrifice taste for healthy, clean and easy nutrition. “We’re combining the freshest ingredients, spices and dressings to create an exciting new way to enjoy Bluewater’s legendary, just-off-the-boat seafood – at lunch, dinner and throughout the day. And because they follow my 10-minute formula, these dishes are perfect for quick business lunches and takeout orders.”
As a post-entrée option, Melissa teamed with her 10-year-old daughter, Charlotte, to add a healthy dessert to the menu: “Charlotte Cupcakes,” served only at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill. Charlotte, a sixth grader at Coronado’s Village Elementary, created the dessert after her appearance on the third season of Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship earlier this year.
The Melissa d’Arabian Greens & Grains Menu at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill features three dishes priced between $12 and $14.
